Jesus Torres Gonzalez, 45, of Birmingham, Ala., is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and related counts, according to state police.

The shooting occurred in the westbound lanes of Route 22 in Bethlehem Township around 4:45 p.m., troopers said. Investigators believe Gonzalez fired two shots at a Honda Civic from his 2006 BMW Z4.

Neither the driver nor the passenger in the Honda was injured.

Gonzalez was taken into custody after police pulled him over near the Schoenersville Road exit, troopers added.

Court records show the Alabama resident was denied bail and remanded to the county lockup in Easton. He is due back in court for a preliminary hearing on Sept. 28.
